Life On Hold
The next available operator
Would soon take my call
And I was put on hold
Flabbergasted by it all
The elevator music played
And I recognized a song
My call would be heard today
Though half the day was gone
Finally I heard a voice
A real person this time
And quietly I rejoiced
At the answer I might find
It was all a simple matter
He led me to believe
Though I felt confused
At all the technology
Another satisfied customer
Was his lofty goal
Though I needed an interpreter
For the jargon that he spoke
What about a survey
He took a chance to ask
And there I declined
And ended the call real fast
