There’s a monster living under my bed,
Maybe my parents will believe me when I’m finally dead,
When the lights go out and everyone rests their heads,
That when I see them, glowing eyes of red.
Peeking out from the side of my covers,
Unwaveringly watching, the eyes of another,
Standing over my bed the figure will hover,
I hide under my pillow waiting for it to be over.
I feel cold hands on my sides start to squeeze,
Lifting my small body with ease,
Eyes meet eyes and I start to scream,
At the same moment I awake from my dream.
