Deep Waters

The mysteriously deep waters wash over me,

A burning sensation starts in my lungs,

It feels as if Hell’s fire is coursing through my veins.

Staring up at the sun’s rays that pierce through the dark blue water,

Eluminating  my resting place.

The surface is so close, but so far away.

I could make it if not for my seatbelt holding me tight.

Ironic how something that is meant to protect me will be my end.

The light faints as the view of the surface grows farther,

I’m dragged down deeper by the piece of scrap metal that will be my prison.

Ears ringing from the pressure of the water,

My eyes grow heavy, my throat flares, my life disperses..
