Hood.

Vows

Today & all of tomorrow

In joy & in sorrow

Our life is about to start

'til death do us part...

…you lyin' bitch!

Whether a spell or curse

For better, for worse

Forever until we perish

To love & to cherish...

…you lyin' witch!

The darkness & the light

In sickness & in health

Two entities combine as one

Their journey just begun

Rising dawn, declining dusk

In sickness & in health

Two minds fused as one

Not knowing what will come

Before our souls are sold

To have & to hold

As our wounds get sorer

For richer, for poorer...

…you lyin' witch!

Wedding bliss?

You taking the piss?

Vows broken like glass

Stuff ‘em up your ass!

No saviour will be our lord

From this day forward

My vows to you I sell

I'd rather die in Hell...

…you lyin' bitch!

Yes these were mine too...funny how promises made in front of witnesses can be turned into such lies.

I wrote my owns vows & kept every promise made.

Not sure I'll bother marrying again but I'm happy with my new lady & she also helped me write this piece so we've both been through it!

Promises are better left unmade rather than broken. I ❤️ The intensity you poured into this.

          Angel G,

totally agree; I made mine to be kept forever.

Thanks for reading & commenting & feeling the intensity.

          Most appreciated,

          Hood.

A very disparaging outlook on the sacred, sacrament of holy matrimony.

The photo says it all, except my wife has a loaded pistol!

            Lawless,

disparaging outlook...most beautiful thing you've ever said about my work...thank you!

The picture for sure goes with the poem. And what a poem!!!
Even though I have never been at the receiving end of broken vows, I can see where you are coming from. Very powerful, to the point, sounding like it is written from the gut.
Don't have to tell you anymore how well it is written, with the quality of your writing established long ago!

            Hoody,

This is disparagingly awesome! I f*ckin love it!! This actually made me smile & laugh, I know it's not meant to, but the "stuff em up your ass" had me close to tears laughing! Love that your lady helped you write this, that's cool! Honestly, the concept of having to ask the government permission to spend your life "married" to someone has always confounded me.. I think if two people love each other a piece of paper is irrelevant.

            Badass piece,

            Santi

I saw the picture and burst out laughing, thank you for that to start with, a great start to my new day.

This is a great write and I know that there are many who have broken their marriage vows and I can see the anger and untrustworthyness it can bring to them. Luckily I am not one of them as our vows just get stronger as we reach our thirty sixth year anniversary.
