I want to do some kind of contest, not sure what the prize will be yet but the rules of the game are

1. Watch for poems called Detroit Homicide and if you can solve the crime before the detective does or any other player you win

2. There is no time limit and the crime will unfold over time

and don\'t worry I will make it difficult but I will give all the clues and I will worn everyone before the detective solves the crime

This is not only impactful and beautiful, Luke, it is remarkable in the fact that it\'s a rhyme poem, but the rhyme is so well done and subtle it wasn\'t until the third read that I noticed it. Brilliant write, my friend!

Luke,
This is heart wrenching!
My sympathies for the
loss of your father!
I didn’t lose my dad
So tragically...but a loss
is a loss. It hurts...a lot!
Loosing my dad was
devastating! Expressing
the loss of a loved one
is so personal and difficult
to do! You did it so
beautifully and eloquently!
I cannot stop looking at
the illustration! It’s
mesmerizing! The more
I look at it, the more it
pulls me in!
This is my favorite saver
from your writes!!!
Thank your for putting
such personal feelings
into words! This is one
write I will read every day
not only to myself...but also
to my mom!
She hasn’t been
the same ever since my
dad died!! Your write will
be very comforting!

Once again, Luke, I see the
magic pen at work.
The metaphors you used to
create the images and the
artwork is ingenious!
Enjoyed the poem

First, excellent image of the moving snow to accompany your piece. And then you used beautiful imagery to get your point across in a wintery tale, up until the meteor shower. Great ways of telling your mood. Fantastic piece!

Wow - loud applause for this collection of different weather conditions which your poetic mind saw could describe states of mind. A first class write Luke - great title too and I love the moving image of snow.

Another fine write, Luke!
Two of my favorite lines...

The ones that bring an ink pen
to a gun fight.

The key is as easy as asking for
a pen to borrow.

Of course , your illustrations are superb.
I like to following the Path of the Poet

Writing it our is a good way to clear the head Luke - - a son usually admires his Dad more when he is shown that no one is perfect on this earth.... I like the one line at a time style used in this cry in the wilderness - keep that ink flowing my friend.

I could do the same at times, with my daftness, and some madcap-style poems - when I\'m not singing me hymn-poems, that is!
I went barmy ages ago! lol. But seriously - we might all kick ourselves around the floor as rubbish at times (on a bad hair day?!). But you\'re a \'good man\'. A phrase that\'s sometimes just said, but it makes me feel warm inside if someone says it to me!

Your writings and artwork
show us how gifted you are!
I could never write
as well as you do...
...and your artwork...
I wouldn’t even attempt it!
You can reflect...
but then leave the dark!
Go toward that ray of light...
YOUR SON!
He is your LIGHT!
It’s a difficult journey...
I will admit!
Do it! Do it all for HIM!

Excellent poem and artwork Luke! It\'s hard for all of us to express emotions, trust me. Someday you\'ll find that special someone and before you know it, you\'ll be so full of joy, you\'ll be writing so many love poems, we\'ll be going nuts! LOL
