There can be no doubt (from personal experience) that throughout life & love there is not always the awareness, the chemistry, or inclination to reciprocate affections .. but then, sometimes love is blind .. I enjoyed your poem today Meera .. Take Care, Neville

Beautifully crafted filled with disappointment a sadness that without we couldn\'t grow as humans. I remember being 17, actually I still write about it today and I\'m almost 50, life has so many twists and turns for us and with all that we don\'t like comes that in which we do. ā¤ļø Beautiful rhyme, obviously a natural talent. šŸŒ¹

My Pen Found its Might
Soman Ragavan said:

My comments on the poem \"My pen found its mightā€ by Meera Mere
Life is indeed strange. Itā€™s a fight since the time you can remember, a fight even against those near and supposed to be ā€œdearā€ to you. In fact, quite often the battles are against oneā€™s near ones. These are tough battles, indeed, and they take a toll on us. The scars remain for long, if not for a lifetime. Where you are supposed to find support, you find treachery, obstacles.
ā€œmy artistic soul saw through their disguiseā€¦ā€ : poets have inherent qualities that enable them to see what others do not see. They have qualities like extra sensory perception that enables them to see quite a lot in the minds of others, especially stuff that is hidden.
ā€œI fought their tyranny, broke free from their chainsā€¦ā€ The fights are often against those quite near to us. Either you fight back or become their slave and allow them to get a victory.
ā€œAnd discovered my voice, where freedom remainsā€¦.ā€ : it is in discovering your voice that you can set yourself free from the bondage others want to impose on you. We poets take to writing to break free of chains and bondage. Writings can only be opposed by other writings and not by other means. So, our opponents can resort only to one thing : write back.
ā€œI pursued my passions, ignored their empty chatterā€¦ā€ : You are right to forge ahead and not to let others dictate your life. Your judge will be your writings, your compositions, not the vain chatter of others. Poets look at posterity and write for posterity, not for transient beings that gravitate around them.
ā€œLife became a bliss, as I followed what truly matteredā€¦.ā€ : as you find out what really matters, you discover joy, because you know that your real legacy is the compositions you leave back, especially in the form of writing. ā€œA book is the only immortality.ā€ Quoted from the book ā€œ3000 proverbs.ā€ Edited by Sam Phillips. New Delhi : Goodwill Publishing House, c 2017. Full acknowledgements are made to the authors, publishers and right-holders.
ā€œA curse turned into a boon, my pen found its mightā€¦ā€ : in the disorder and conflicts around you, you managed to steer towards that which really matters : leaving your footprints in an immortal way. Poetry is immortal. It has been said that the pen is mightier than the sword. Entire empires that were built by force have crumbled to dust : but writings remain. Today, the most formidable weapon is the keyboard --- on the laptop, the PC, the tablet or the mobile. And the Internet represents archives that cannot be destroyed. Soman Ragavan. 11 March, 2024.
