‘This roiling morbid funk’ describes the texture of this great poem-I invite you to visit Midnight Flight: some of the same thematic elements: different texture-

A great write, dear Poet
thanks for inspiring this feeble poetic reply:
(to look back, to witness fact
thus
stay in foreshadowing\'s reprieve
assimilate, horizon within mirage
accumulate, surrealism\'s escape
and delay
reality\'s unwanted slap
of awareness, with it\'s jarring
effect
warping, that we want to treasure
most...)

Tomorrow\'s Vow

Each line had strong individual message but they weren’t woven, weren’t in or out of any sequence , patterned or chaotic and I hoped for an even elusive attachment before the last line arrived.

Liked the poem. To be honest, I’m not quite grasping the full meaning of the last line?

I just read that comment and thought
it was so apt, to introduce people to your Art
and now you\'ve weaved a new song
out of those kind words, cementing
their legacy, in your poetic journey
ain\'t this scribbling thing we do
such a wild ride, dear cherished Poet

(I can but ask your forgiveness once more
dear cherished Poet
for so rudely, butchering
your wonderful poetry
but, petulantly
I couldn\'t help sharing with you
how your words revealed themselves to me..
thank you! for sharing
such a brilliantly thought provoking read)
\'a rocky shoal
Distant halves
—a different whole\'

\'As words born an orphan
adopted in rhyme

That one treasured secret
alive roaming free\'

\'Do you keep your own counsel
for no one to hear

While staying intrepid
admonishing fear\'

\'Transcending the silence
—of what’s yet to be\'

That\'s high praise HBH. Music, being the highest art form, is what motivates me.

In a different life I would like to have been a singer songwriter.

Amen and beautiful ...

The callousness and greed of the modern world has shut off
all the major portals of perception that used to get taught and
passed down. The best of us is now what used to be the worst
of us .... SAD

I so relate, dear Poet
but being a cynical fool, my view
is a little askew
(I hope, my last breath
is devoid of regret
having come to terms
with my life\'s choice, neglect
and mistakes
so that, at least
I may afford myself
that forgiveness, I seek
for I fear, many await
beyond that great perhaps
with bills aplenty
that i shan\'t ever escape...)

word that hit home, dear Poet
sad to contemplate
just how much horror, we can\'t fathom
is a child\'s reality, in this very minute..
whatever universe, deity or chance
denotes our tendrils of fate
I only ask, why?
why must children suffer, to what purpose
is there no other way to forge a person
without suffering
must strife n pain, be our life\'s conductors
even if so, can we at least
grant children a reprieve, at least
till they\'re old enough to make informed choices..
just breaks my heart, to contemplate
oft
when I\'m at my lowest, i remember these lines from a song by India Arie:
\'Off in the back country of Brazil
A met a young brother that made me feel
That I could accomplish anything
(You see, just like me, he wanted to sing)
(He had) no windows and no doors
He lived a simple life and was extremely poor
On top of all of that, he had no eyesight
(But that didn\'t keep him from seein\' the light)
(He said) what\'s it like in the USA?
And all I did was complain
(He said) living here is paradise
He taught me paradise is in your mind; you know that...
There\'s hope
It doesn\'t cost a thing to smile
You don\'t have to pay to laugh\'
