I can joke about my insecurities
I can point at them and laugh
I can say they are ridiculous
And play them off as silly on your behalf
But behind the funny words
That I use to hide away
I can feel the way they hurt
I can feel how much they weigh
I'll put on a confident smile
I'll poke fun at myself despite the pain
But I'm deceiving everyone
To avoid having to explain

Totally understand this. I face the same but in writing you tell your feelings and embrace them.
