THANKSGIVING : Is giving Thanks to GOD : Because
HE protected the PILGRIM FATHERS in AMERICA
AND they celebrated their first HARVEST in the
NEW LAND : in 1621 ! It also celebrates the
KINDNESS of the Native Americans who had .....
SHOWN the PILGRIMS how to survive in AMERICA !
GENERATIONS of Americans (since 1863) have celebrated.
I have participated in THANKSGIVING DINNERS in .....
VARIOUS US States : It s celebrated
IN EVERY COUNTRY of the World : Where there are AMERICANS
NO TRUE AMERICAN would fail to celebrate THANKSGIVING !
GREAT FOOD : Including 60 million TURKEYS ~ AMEN

Fine right about a great celebration. Can you elaborate on dodecet poems - I've not come across it before.

THANKS UNCLE MIKE ~ A DODECET is a 12 line Poem which follows similar rules to the SONNET ! Angela likes them because she often runs out of lines ! In this case it is also an Acrostic so its length is constrained to 12 lines (T H A N K S G I V I N G). DODECETS often written as 6 6 or 4 4 4. They can be Rhymed ~ Free Verse or Blank Verse (Iambic). This Poem has good flow and is almost IAMBIC ! Pleased you enjoyed it !

TWELVE is the number of COMPLETION so a DODECET is an appropriate structure for a THANKSGIVING Poem ~ it also has 12 letters ! B & A !
