dear J

dusk arising

and so it is goodbye
i shan't be home again
you know why
and our differences now
just break my heart

go on and go free
the world loves you
darling woman
we are not happy
but happiness is out there

for us both

Thanks.... to be clean cut and decent was my motive.

A profound write - love it.

If it's painful, cut it off, for everyones sake. Thanks ME.

        • Suresh

If part we must, why can't it be like this...
          My sentiments as well

          • dusk arising

Exactly, all to often people take ending to a level far below that which is decent. Thanks for commenting.

put me in the feels, great work.

Which means you are a 'feelings' poet. Good to know you and thank you for commenting.

There is always a way to make a positive from an apparent negative. Thank you for your comments here.

Famously a goodbye its over letter is known as a 'Dear John' letter.... well seeing as i don't have touchy feely relationships with blokes... i modified this to Dear J.....

If I was able, I would award these few words top marks, so powerful and generous are they ... Neville

                    • dusk arising

Thanks Neville, it's just an attempt to contrast the horrible endings we can all see written about on MPS so regularly. Relationships are of course a about two peoples lives and when it no longer works, for whatever reason, there really is no point in not wishing them every happiness in their future.

                      • Neville

                        I agree entirely..... Neville
