Happier

Clark

hands stale and knees weak

falling on the floor.. blood dripping

but my heart was still full

and i remembered the way you loved me

even with your hands around my neck

face swollen and eyes like glass

i remembered when we laid in the grass

where you told me you wanted this

forever

but after a while

forever seemed to be taking

forever

then the one thing i dreaded happened

you let me go

so i fell and stared at the ground for an eternity

i gathered all i had left

courage, strength, determination and

love

brought it all into my hands and pushed down

with every ounce of might

and i stood back up

now i'm in love again

with a man who holds me close and

looks at me with pride

he touches me like a flower

delicate and precious

his kiss is gentle and his

intentions are true

craving him is much better

than it ever was you

-  happier without you
