Reflection

"Carter Wills"

Always saw the skies as gray,

never knew they could be blue.

Until it came, that fateful day,

that I went and fell for you.

You had made light in everything,

no matter how dark it got.

Always made me want to sing

about the lovely joy you brought.

I never knew what it was I had,

what angel had passed through.

Until it came, I look back sad,

that I went and lost you.

  • Comment from author about the poem: So I realize I haven’t published any poems in a good bit. As in, over a year. And I do apologize for that. I’ve been rather... distracted, for lack of a better word. My mind’s been off elsewhere. But I’ve settled myself out fairly well, I would say, and I do plan on trying to return to my writings. So let this hopefully be the first of many again.

This is well written... The last verse seems quite abrupt. I want to know more... What happened? Very intriguing.

    A nice melancholy poem
