The Fair

A passing lyric

Roll up, roll up

welcome to the fair

a dime for your time

a dollar for the fare.

This way to the house

of total illusion

step inside now

for your taste of confusion.

The hall of mirrors

glassy, reflections of your fate

don't fall behind the crowd

or you'll be locked inside the gate.

The clown's down

closer to the ground

close to the sound

found to clown around.

A purple haze

leads us onward

A great, large maze

facing forward.

Memories float

fleeting through the air

time of your life

when your life's at the fair.
