Your Voice Your Identity

Narayan Gadagkar

You lived  a life of honour and dignity

Your voice is your identity

Melody was splendid and bounty

The voice has enthralled the billions across

Yet being so humble, was your magnanimity

You were the national treasure

Left behind memories galore

Your Voice permeates the minds of many

Resonates in the  hearts of lot many

More than seven decades in music world

Forty thousand songs in thirty six languages

What a feat of accomplishment

Although around us, you will not be seen

But the Nightingale in you lives on and on
