"I said real love, it's like feeling no fear when
you're standing in the face of danger."
“Trust is like a mirror, you can fix it if it's broken,
but you can still see the crack in that mother f#%*r's reflection.”
Cry with me once more,
There's no need for pretending,
We'll be the sunrise!
"I don't need the world to see that I've been the best I can be,
but I don't think I could stand to be, where you don't see me."
“Life's a climb but the view's great”
"I don't have any control over what actually happens except for that
I have full control over my will for myself, my intention, and why I'm there. That's all that matters."

- Comment from author about the poem: Hey! My second shot at a haiku! This one's more direct and just came from a place of downright authenticity and sincerity. This is a message to everyone that it's okay to cry and that there is always LIGHT! Even when it may not be as obvious to the eye. I wrote this while listening to one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all-time, Mitski. And I'll say that this poem wouldn't be what it is now if weren't for her influence. "We'll be the sunrise" was originally going to be "we'll watch the sunrise." But since haikus don't allow too much flexibility, I had to choose one variation. So I chose the one that speaks most to us as humans, EVOLUTION. We have the power to BE the sunrise, that hope and joy, despite hardships. πππ (The quotes/lyrics surrounding the haiku are from some of my favorite artists, hope you'll leave this poem feeling inspired!)

I really like this, Rocky! Especially "cry with me once more". It's not about suddenly giving up crying, but about slowly getting better, choosing to be happy. The sunrise is a great metaphor. You think it might take a long time but at one point you look up and the sun has risen and you wonder how it got there so quickly. That's how it goes with being happy as well.
Exactly Junia! It's so fulfilling to see that you understand my work and appreciate it. The road to happiness isn't a quick nor easy one, it's a road that takes a lot of perseverance to achieve, as well as aid from people you hold close. That's why I tied it in with the sunrise. The sun doesn't ZIP to the peak of the skies in a second, it's a process of gradual growth. So that's what I wanted to convey in this poem, "gradual growth." Growth between friendships, family, and most importantly, self. Thanks for your lovely comment and I hope you have a great day! ππ
Welcome to the world of 575s - a great form if you forget the strict rules and just maintain the syllable count - great 575s by the way.
