Lovey mother

Georgiarous101

You never grew in my tummy
Your eyes don't look like mine
But behind every kind gesture
Is where you will find
Me.

The woman who raised you
Who taught you to love
The woman who gave to you
More than enough
The woman who held you
And wiped away your tears
The woman who taught you
And took away your fears

You may never have my smile
You may never look like me
But in your beating heart
Is where i will always be

Your kindness
Your weakness
Your quirks and your ways
All were created
From every single one of the days

We played
We laughed
We sang
We danced

And we grew to love each other
Because no matter what
I will always be
Your lovey mother.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this for my adopted son who refers to me as his "lovey mummy" because I love him as a mother should. He taught me how to be a mum💙
