My Daily Torment

Christina8

Depression sucked the poetry from me

I'm doing better, but still

My brain is a fog most of the time

Still struggling up that hill

It's a chore to live sometimes

But I don't want to die

Have a lot of life to live

Sometimes I'm not sure why

Pristine snow and a darkened sky

Are my friends, don't you know?

I wonder the fun I'll have

When spring and summer show

What I'd give for a sunbeam

Just one, just for a moment

It gets dark so early

It's my daily torment

  • Comment from author about the poem: It\\\'s always below freezing where I live and a peek of sunshine is an event, I swear! Can\\\'t wait till it warms up and the snow melts. :)

I am sure that sunbeam will be with you soon Christina and your world will be full of light and joy.

        Thanks Orchi! Appreciated!

Yes, as days physically get lighter, so it may be for you in person. Seasons can affect moods. There is 'This too will pass', said by a wise one. But not entirely to wish away everything 'nasty' or 'bad'.
I won't sing - it'll only make ya feel worse! Note to self: nothing new there then Orchi. lol.

Depression sucks .. period .. but this my friend is quite possibly one of your finest .. and so, if I read you clearly, the beast has done us all a favour .. x

Why, thank you dear Neville! A most welcome review on a gloomy day...x

Such a perfect metaphor, having lived in the ice and cold I can feel it. I guess that is why I moved to warmer weather. I love the sun.

Me too but I don't like tornadoes or hurricanes! I can relate though. Thanks for your kind review!
