Tangled In Between

White pearl 
Between the thighs
Fresh breeze 
Bringing up tides.

Slowly with haste* 
The red haze is coming
Fragrance of lust
Seems so unbecoming.

Pure and honest 
With all delight
Hands strive to touch
Eyes long for love.

Blue reaching for red
Fire for the wind 
Lips touching the skin
Desire gets tangled in between.

  • Comment from author about the poem: *Slowly with haste is an oxymoron taken from Laten saying Festina lente which means “make haste slowly”. It’s often used in Croatian in situations when there is great excitement about something and you just want to point out that yes, you get the need for haste but take a measured approach. I felt it fits the feel I was going for here perfectly :
