Bone

Aa Harvey

Bone

Under the moonlight I’m searching for your heart.

Another lost soul I need to rip me apart.

I couldn’t help you escape from out of the dark,

So I just left you to break out from where you are.

If I had let you then I’d lose myself in your tune.

My thoughts would run me into a state of ruin,

But I still find you beneath the blue moon,

And all I think about is the blackest of sins, my truth.

I have this mark, which you left upon my heart.

You clawed a piece of me and left a deep red scar.

I have the teeth imprint to remind me when you are far,

That once you loved me like I love all that you are.

When all is black inside and I’m falling like the light,

I still long for you and hope with all my might,

But you are gone from me now, I know I have lost the fight.

So I just let myself go and deep inside I die.

When I’m gone I know you won’t remember me,

So I left you a message you couldn’t fail to see.

It’s written in blood and it marks the way to leave.

Now all that’s left is the stains upon the sheet.
