The risen Jesus did appear

To disciples drew near

Said, These are the words I to you

Spake, that all must come true

 

That all the things must be fulfilled

As the Father has willed

The law and prophets and psalms too

Which tell of me, here view

 

He opened their understanding

To so discern each thing

In the scriptures, and to them said

It is written, is read

 

That it was necessary for

Christ to suffer for sure

And to rise from dead the third day

He e'er the Life, Truth, Way

 

And that repentance, remission

Of sins to us be given

And should in His name be so preached

Until all nations reached
