Done Fighting

Revernd21

Every night feels like we're walking onto a battlefield

Where the fighting doesn't end until one of us yield

Every moment like a bomb waiting to explode

And once it goes off, without mercy we unload

Every word a projectile cutting through flesh

Old wounds reopened while others are fresh

Tears flowing like the blood from our injuries

Not much can be done even with endless apologies

At some point the suffering has to end

Someone has to step in and make amends

Wave the white flag, declare peace

Say their final goodbye then take their leave

From this war only the scars remain

Only the heartache, only the pain
