Silent Sunflower

GeekSusie

In the quiet of my room, I dare to bloom,

Holding onto a secret, cloaked in gloom.

Through corridors of fear, I shyly roam,

Yearning for acceptance, yet feeling so alone.

In the mirror's reflection, a girl, I see,

Her heart beating for another, yet trembling, silently.

Like a sunflower, drawn to the sun,

For another girl's light, her heart has begun to run.

In hushed whispers, I dream of her face,

In the crowded halls, her gentle grace.

Yet, the world is not ready for this silent plea,

So, I hide my heart, in a love, they can't see.

I paint a smile, a perfect disguise,

While my truth, in the depths, quietly lies.

I carry my secret, in the silence of the night,

Hoping for a world, where love takes flight.

This girl in the mirror, in shadows, resides,

In a world that judges, in a world that divides.

Yet, hope whispers softly, someday they'll see,

That love, in all forms, is simply meant to be.
