Phone Cook.

Goldfinch60

I had to ‘phone a company,

The car insurance needed cancelling.

So there I was on the ‘phone,

The voice said,

“If you want this press one,

If you want that press two,

If you want the other press three”.

I pressed three but not realising,

Realising that I pressed the number,

The number that meant waiting,

Waiting for eternity.

The music played

Again and again and again.

The voice came on the ‘phone,

“Your call is important to us”.

While I was waiting

The thought came to me

That in this time,

This time I was waiting,

I could have cooked,

Cooked a risotto.

Half an hour of my life wasted,

Wasted waiting on the ‘phone!

I agree, it is a bloomin nuisance and such a waste of precious time ..

    • Goldfinch60

It surely is a waste of precious time Neville.

I'm prone to exaggeration, but this is true-I prefer people to apps. I waited 12 hours to talk to someone at telstra about being overcharged.
I doubt that is a world record though.

      • Goldfinch60

We seem to always be waiting for people to respond in life 2781.

Yes, or sailed round the world 7,484 times while waiting! lol.
That Bing Crosby was a monster in his personal family life.

        • Goldfinch60

Yes we could have sailed round the world Orchi.

You spent that extra second yet, that we had one year? I think we both went to the moon and back 5,846 times in that time, so we didn\'t waste that second. lol.

I hear ya, there's nothing worse. And yep, hanging on and on, while being told your call is important to us. Nailed it, mate.

            • Goldfinch60

              Thank you Tom, much appreciated.

I wonder what happened to the days when you could call a business and get a real person to help you. They call this progress? The worst is to be connected with a call center on the other side of the world. Thank you for venting for all of us.

                • Goldfinch60

I too wonder what happened to that Bella. Thank you for your comment, much appreciated.
