for your ghost

anemoia

tubes keep you alive

flowing through your veins

but there’s never enough air

to fill you up completely

when parents left child

you were there

don’t leave now

you wanted great-grandchildren

you wanted to bless my hand

in marriage

you’ve accepted death

like a warm hug

but not by choice

by acceptance

stay

you keep Jesus alive

a cross burned into my chest

Heaven’s gates stay open

only for you

when I die I’ll disappear

when you die you’ll go there

I pissed on your carpet

when I was five

I’m sorry

lungs collapse

wait for me
