A Final Dream

john

A Final Dream

Every once in a while I dream

And no matter how real it might seem

I awake

Never again will you be there when

I awake.

Yet you always find me in my dream

I can’t live like this anymore

It’s me you ignore

My emotions placed at your door,

And now I have failed

When I dream tonight

I’ll make it right

Just follow me into the light

We will go together

And leave forever

I will never be yours again

Except in my dream.

Aw. It is so sweet...bittersweet. And it seems a familiar scene....I think Sir Philip Sydney, and I forget who else, of the famous past poets, likewise lamented such a grief...seeing her only too brilliantly in their dreams....ah, what a very sad story. I hope it is not for real.
