Trail

IAmJaz

This life didn't come with any stepping stones

No yellow brick roads

No fancy dwindling globes

No supplementary compass to guide one onto never ending happiness

This life didn't come with everlasting handouts

No satin throne

No manifesting pedestal

No overflowing wallet of joyous mother birthed green

This life only came with endless opportunities

Fate is inevitable

It's the trail of life

WELCOME JAZ - and thanks for a great first poem ! We are NOT born equal we are born DIFFERENT. However (as your poem says) we are all born with endless opportunities and it how we grasp them (or let them slip) that makes the difference ! I think your negatives exemplify "all" our experiences ! NO Roads - NO Globes - NO Thrones - N0 Pedestals - NO overflowing wallet and the inevitability of FATE ! Thanks for sharing - BRIAN
