I'm Not Her

c.a.s.e.e._

you keep saying you love me

and then you trace me back to your

ex.

you said that when she left

you were broken and when

i came you were fixed.

you keep telling me about how

different we are and

how much you missed her and

the way she used to treat you;

yet you still say you love me.

so the question is:

do you love me

or do you love the thought

of me being her?

    It happens CASEE ~ To Men as well as to Ladies. If a person has had a very strong and meaningful relationship they do mention it from time to time. I'm 33 (single) so most of my GF's are in the 25 - 40 age group ~ some of them have had many BF's. What I object to is being compared to another Man or (as you say) just being a substitute (or a clone) for a previous partner. A thought provoking poem ~ thanks for sharing ~ BRIAN
