Broken

BrokenEyes

Innocent

Just beginning

Little girl wrapped in the comfort of protection

Not knowing what awaits outside

Exploring

Getting to know the world

Making friends

Creating bonds

Forever

Solid ties

Best Best Friends

Always together

Leaving

Creating a shell

Not prepared

Fear

Afraid

New people

New language

Want to fit

Again

More unbreakable bonds

Prepared for the inevitable end

But probably not

Harder shell

Building up

Insecurities

Covered by sarcasm

Found the place

True belonging

Shell deteriorates

News

Leaving again

Not believing

"Temporary" depression

Shell becomes armor

Making jokes

At my own expense

To cover up

The trepidation

Sarcasm

Inevitable

Bellicosity

An iron shield

The pain

Of knowing

I can never be

Accepted

Because no one

Will ever know me

Even I'm

Not sure who I am

But

I do know

That I'm

Broken

After being hurt it can be very hard to recover. Few of us stop to ask the question, "Who am I?". Thanks for sharing.
