Drowning in a famine

carlosv1101

Drowning in a famine
And I'm just here
Drowning in a famine
Of a spirit swimming in tears

Nowhere to embrace the nature of this truth
Nowhere to cut me open and release these fears
Nothing to bleed out the voices in these ears

The devastation that starves my soul
Is what feeds my brain
Will it ever leave me alone?

Day, please come in the form of felicitous pleasure
And deport this melancholy to an unknown desert
Take my sorrow and sink it down to the core
Let it dry up and vanish
I don't want this madness to happen
I'm just a simple soul
Drowning in a famine
