DESOLATION THREE ~ A Sonnet

BRIAN & ANGELA

The scene and stench in the room was INFERNAL

The four people who sat round the table were long dead

Decaying and partially eaten by rats and insects

I retched and backed out horrified ~ Despairing of ever

Seeing my Sisters Paula and and Luna again ~ I pressed

My Horse forward ~ sobbing with a very heavy heart !

Ahead of me there seemed to be a large Castle ~ with some

Signs of Human Activity.  This gave me some hope as I entered.

Everyone looked sick and emaciated and there was an "Air of Death"

I screamed out my Sisters names P A U L A ~ L U N A ~ PAULA LUNA

An emaciated old man  croaked ~ YES ~ they are in the kitchen !

Wen they saw me they screamed  B O N N O ~ B O N N O ~ you have come !

They were thin ~ old ~ but ALIVE ~ We caressed and wept for joy !  There was cart

I bundled them in ~ hitched my horse and drove like HELL to CIVILISATION !

Thanks for reading ~ comments welcome ~ this is the last SAGA ~ Love BRIAN (BONNO)

  • Comment from author about the poem: Sorry to come to an abrupt end in SAGA THREE ~ But my Sisiters did reach EOROPA with me and enjoyed the luxury and PEACE of my home and the hospitality of my FAMILY. With lots of TLC they survived another 30 years to 84 & 82 but never really spoke of the horrors they had endured in MITHRAS and the gharish lengths they had gone to (including cannibalism) to keep alive. You did an awesome job on your saga. Glad you and your sisters made it out alive! Your sisters had to take some pretty gharish measures, but oddly made it to a very old age for the middle ages. glad to see it had a happy ending! Agape hugs--Christina

WELL I APPRECIATE THAT But PAULA & LUNA had lost so much of their life in deprivation that they were determined not to die once we reached UTOPIA. I was rich enough to ensure they never had to work again and could enjoy good food ~ spas ~ mountain air and then love of my Family. They were celebrities of course and gave talks in "schools" and at many social events ! The thrity years God granted them with me were th bst of their lives. They dies with a Month of each other which was a Blessing as they were inseperble to the end. Thanks for caring ~ BRIAN

Glad there was a happy ending, I read that over 400 of these caves have been found with incredible stonework and statuary.

THAT IS TRUE "A" ~ There are whole cities like PETRA which are carved out of solid rock ~ awesome ! It's like MACHU PICCHU in Peru (which I have visited ) Nobody knew it was there until an explorer stumbled across it ~ wonderful. Thanks BRIAN
