Revival

The door was closed

My heart was stilled....like time was frozen, I feel so cold.

Time heals all wounds they say...

Yet layers of my heart lie with the petals of flowers flowing in the wind

Feeling so lost to time

Unfamiliar to the world and feelings around

My friends...

(Heartbeat begins to beat),

(Be still my heart)

The people who truly want to be with you

It's all coming back to me...

(Be still my heart)

The cold shall melt away all pain

We all want to love and be loved

(Be still my heart)

Keep the door closed

History always repeats

Yet we always try to change our ending

To find that balance of happy and effort

We claw, bleed, scream, lie, kill, fight, and run....all to make it feel worth the effort...

The heart stirs....

(Maybe I can try)

It won't end the same way so let's try again

The door opens

The heart beats faster

Your world brightens slowly but surely

Your alive again

Time to live....

  • Comment from author about the poem: It's not only about how you live but how you rise after falling. Do you stay down? Or do you get up? No matter how much it hurts, as long as you breathe air you owe it to yourself to decide.
