15 with a dream

israel16

I was 15 with a dream,
To much to cope to much to feen ,
Addicted that's how it seemed. So hard to believe so hard to achieve . Dressed as impressed just came with so much stress. Kicking a ball was on my mind had no time to be a part of her life.
15 with a dream,
Days go by as I stay wondering why ,
Never shed a tear through her eye was it meant to be or it shouldn't be now 17 with a gone dream, through the cracks I promised mama I'd never do crack , now I'm high living the dream as I was 15 in mind how I wonder why did I get High,
Simple as a pimple popped there I was at the top got lost in drugs just 18 stuck on this feen. Kicking rocks as my promises became words with so much shame and I was the one to blame , society grabbed me by me feet , quick sand , now I sleep in tents man , now I eat once a week man , now I think where that boy at 15 be...

  • Comment from author about the poem: I was walking around LA and saw so much young people in the streets , and it made me think how many of these people had dreams before getting addicted to drugs and living in the streets.

WELCOME FRIEND ~ Thanks for sharing your first poem. We all had dreams at 15 but when we pass 30 and look back few of them worked out positively. I retrospect I blame myself as much as others and Society. In parts of the USA (and the UK) one sees much "drug depravity" the real tragedy is THERE ARE NO OLD DRUG ADDICTS ! Thanks for caring ~ please check my Poems ~ Yours BRIAN (UK).
