aftermath

k.a.l.a

she came into my life like a hurricane
an unabashedly vicious storm
not caring what was in it's wake
i gave all i had to her
unguarded
for her to do whatever she pleased

the claps of thunder and flashes of lighting
should have been signs
clouds heavy with angry rain
swirling winds and unforgiving darkness
but still
i stayed
thinking maybe she would stop
maybe she would turn around
and spare me another day

i knew my heart would be ripped to shreads
my soul thrashed by the powerful winds
my thoughts suffocated by the thick air
my firey passion drowned by the thrashing waves

i was left demolished
my whole being
taken by the storm
she moves on to the next
and i am still here
praying for her to come back
and do it all again
