Removed my rose tinted glasses

Removed my rose tinted glasses.

 

I thought I knew them, I was wrong,
I thought I trusted them, I was wrong.
I thought they respected me, I was wrong,
I thought they had my back, I was wrong.
I thought they spoke truth, I was wrong,
I thought I could count on them, I was wrong.
I thought that they loved me, I was wrong,
They thought I was weak..they were Wrong !!!

And even those sports teams That made to befriend me But really just wanted me to Help them win things , as a Younger man I was very good At many sports , I played for Several teams but always Felt separate to the other Players. I can honestly Say I have never had a Best friend all my life, Except my wife...

        Very good poem. I'm glad you have such a great wife that is also your best friend! I'm also lucky in that my greatest friend is my spouse. I guess we're just lucky people! 🙂

          I can relate to this very much P.H. True friends are the confidants in your life with whom you can share everything, and they only care what is best for you. Others just latch on until they use you up and go onto the next person. Great job expressing this situation.

              funny how at certain times in one's life, they find ot who really has their back. divorce for example can do it, i know cos the people i considered to be close friends, suddenly disappeared. BUT the good thing was, those few who stayed around, have proven themselves to be the people i can count on and they know i'm there for them. plus now having the one truly special person in my life, makes those who disappeared, non-existent which is fine with me! enjoyed the read and the message you're sending!

                and fortunately there are some lovely stones believed to have protective auras & thought to bring positive energy with them ....those are the ones to focus on! plastic and glass can be recycled....would be nice if people could be...LOL!
