morning glories

Heather T

tempt me not into your subtle

I am homeless arms too long

you smelled the wither in my eyes

and swore waters of your own

wanton until the tiger lilies fold

beneath ceilings of coral sky

that our skins would set their suns

for dreams of shivered clover

and the seams of sleeveless stars call

to be lost boldly in your found

where we are fallen among feathers

and every yesterday bridge

unstutters our fingers

from all the tangling sighs

tomorrow is all day for wanderers

and when every highway constellation

is damp with rogue glories parting

we will sip our slow lonely

in the morning
