How well you sleep
With your blind eye so strong.
As children dance to the rhythm of the Kalashnikov's song.
You are tranquil and never stir
With shame and fear, like prongs.
While feet tap the beat to the Kalashnikov's song.
You sing in your sleep
And you sing all day long.
You bring in the night with the Kalashnikov's song.

Is this about the Ak-47? If so, this is dark. I love it.
Yes 🙂 it is about the power men who never have to pick up an AK-47 but will sing it's song all day long. This poem came to me while reading a story about Mikhail Kalashnikov, the inventor of the infamous weapon who later regretted his invention and the suffering it has caused the world over. I'm so glad you enjoyed my poem and took the time to read it. Thank you 🙂
