If Not This........What?

Seeker

We see truth through the crooking lens of life

and the long coming dawn of age and ken

should bring knowledge, wisdom's faithful wife

But no, like voles we must stay neath the fen

We watch the forms on Plato’s fire lit wall

but live we must in our dim crib misled

Each person sees a global rose for all

Convinced a red, is red, is red, is red

Our senses are amorphous and inept

Unfit for dealing with all that is here

What have we done since order must be kept

We have clung to accord for order it is clear

Our ship sails on oceans we cannot see

The courses set must be those all agree

A beautiful, classic poem, George. I especially like the last two lines, which sum up the journey of life exquisitely. Well done!
