Unfulfilled Dreams

FredPeyer

Hidden within the dark forest

Of stunted expectations

Dwell the timeless ghosts

Of unfulfilled dreams

Eagerly awaiting to be

Liberated into the sunshine

To shed their cloaks

Of fear and worry

To dance in the rain

Of tears of joy

To surf the waves

Of unlimited opportunity

To be freed

From chains of regret

To finally metamorphose

Into glorious reality

But to do so one must risk it all and come out on top

Thanks SH! You know what they say: No pain no gain. Sometimes we have to go out of our comfort zone, but it is usually worth it.

Thanks FRED ~ I love the optimism in this philosophical poem ! I have a big list of unfulfilled dreams (at my AGE) but your final doublet assures me that "They will all ~ finally metamorphose ~ into glorious reality ~ AMEN !" Yours BRIAN

Oh my, I am actually crying. I have held myself back for so long yearning to be 'freed from chains of regret'! I would love to 'shed my cloak of fear and worry' Very thought provoking. Beautifully crafted words.

                            • FredPeyer

So sorry, Elsie, didn't mean to make you cry! But just think, if you are able to overcome whatever it is that is holding you back, you will feel so much better! Thank you for reading!

                              • Elsie

Oh don't apologise. It's all good, I need some cathartic words to kick me up the backside ha ha! And I suppose I still haven't properly grieved for my Dad, so it won't take much for the tears to brim over my eyes.
