A Victorian Style
A simple Victorian style
Was the decor and the theme
And on me had impressed
That I had all I dreamed
To be there content
Was satisfying and great
I worried not the extent
That things could rule my day
The style was deceiving
With my things all around
I became aware of the trappings
And how they brought me down
A price is paid I learned
For any stylish thing
Know although it’s dreamt
A heartache it can bring

Good write wc.
Thanks, orchidee
"Things" in general wc! It's great when you realize you can live without wanting "too much" - it is such freedom! Part 2 of the same lesson is learning to do things for oneself instead of paying people to do them for one.... you need a lot less money that way! If I interpreted this correctly, it hits a big chord in me. (And there can still be elegance in simplicity!)
Thanks for your feedback Lorna. You have given me something to think about, and that is good.
Great write
Thanks Tony. It's always nice to hear from you.
