What is a mans purpose in a world so against him,

I often ask my self am I a man amongst many men,

Where do I go, who do I go to in order to consult,

When everything is against me and I feel like its not my fault,

I strive to make those who raised me proud of me,

I try to live up to the expectations they expound on me,

But if I fail, I wonder if they will love me when what comes is my demise,

Just because I am not successful in their eyes,

But to my surprise, I was blessed with the one,

Someone who loves me for me, no matter the outcome,

Someone who looks at me with happiness and pure joy,

A heaven sent gift, the perfect little boy,

Peoples expectations of who I am, I am no longer bothered,

Why do you ask? I am somebody’s father,

My duty is to show him wrong from right,

My duty is to show him to follow your heart and mind,

My duty is to show him the best route to take,

My duty is to make sure, he doesn’t make the same mistakes ,

Now I realize why I had to live this way, why I had to fight,

I fought so hard so that my son doesn’t have to fight when its time to live his life.
