Good for you. I have just spent 3 week in hospital, some in isolation, so I know what a really worthwhile career nursing is. Such a giving and caring time. I wish you every success in completing your years ahead and future of happiness.

I like this. Carefully and well written. Wings open and set free, Souring the skies of possibility ... I love that imagery.

Good write Maxine. It\'s not so much paralysis with me, as trying to shake off bad dreams. Keep telling myself \'it\'s non-existent; only a dream!\'

Interesting description but of something I don\'t recall having ever experienced. However, many years ago i was surprised, whilst listening to a radio 4 program, to learn that I am among a rare group of \'lucid dreamers\'. No wonder I\'m a bit of a dreamer and never seem to get anything done.

This resonates. I worked for the NHS - at my desk by 7.30am, no lunch breaks (what are they?) and home by 5.30, dinner at 6 then out came the case and paperwork before retiring. But I loved every minute of it. And Hospital management ( I was a lawyer heading up legal services) is often derided as an unnecessary overhead.
