From the poem :
“The journey begins when the tree gives birth to its fruit and leaves it ripe.
Until the shell that covers its seeds is removed
The seed will always be blind.
But when its cover is removed,

This describes the cycle of birth and death. The tree gave birth to the seed that remained covered by the shell. The seed was protected and fed for the time needed. Once the protection goes, it is either survive or die, for the seed. It is the same with humans and other living species. The day comes when we find ourselves entirely on our own. We must struggle successfully in this life or die. It is a struggle until death. Even in disease it is about a struggle against death. Soman Ragavan. 17 September, 2023.
