Drowning Lessons

forgive my opinionated words below
I meant well, but feel free to ignore them
if they\'re more toxic than helpful to you
thanks for sharing, such a relatable read
(what is your purpose?
well
to simplify matters, may i suggest
you alter that question to something like:
\'do i Need a purpose?\'
see, we need not seek
those debilitatingly Big questions
to find a foothold in life
we need only ask (I feel)
those more immediate, yet seemingly
more miniscule questions
like,
\'in this very moment
what is it i need to do
what is it i want to do
how do i bridge the gap
between, the two?\'
and then hopefully
bridging a path, from one breath
to the next, and eventually
we may find enough room, to begin
looking for patterns and chains
that we can anchor ourselves to...
a rhythm of life, paved upon
something as simple
as a morning routine
just to pass from one moment
to the next, if we feel like it
just for ourselves, nothing more
or less
is ever required of us, from existence
all that other bulshit we pile inside
our draining backpacks of lament
we accumulate, ourselves
and ergo
we\'re ever empowered and ready
to Bravely, shrug our shoulders free
and let that next step, feel
that much lighter, to contemplate...)
stay strong!
and happy new year

Hello fellow poet! I couldn\'t help but be moved by your simple yet resonating words. I often feel similarly to you in this poem, with a desire to change hindered by a deep age-old exhaustion that simply comes from living. I do hope that you\'ll find light in between the moments. Perhaps it is not my place to say, I believe that a person has many different purposes to live, and it\'s alright if they are other people. And, if you feel comfortable enough, I believe that sharing your voice through your poems is a purpose for living too.
