SHOWER THOUGHTS

forgive me for my rambling words below
I was inspired by your poetry and tried
to ink a little poetic reply
(mostly, because
most people want to hide their own feelings of inadequacy
by wallowing in a societal, communal pot of misery
so they hide behind labels:
the strong, bully
rejoice in being stronger
knowing
they\'ll soon be old and weak
and all they\'ll have is hate
to fuel their worthless lives;
the intellectuals, disdain
those they deem as being lesser
for having a lower IQ, supposedly
and get bitter
because their self-grandiose state
distances them from everyone
and now, they\'re clueless
have no idea what to do or say
what\'s trending or accepted
and find themselves alienated
from that they yearn to be a part of;
and the righteous, watch-on
insuring their closeted communities
refute the existence of alternative perspectives
or ways of life, determined
only \'their own\', are permitted
access
to that promised divine afterlife
while professing
we all belong to their chosen deity

...
in short, misery loves company
but
rare, rays of hope like you
dear poet
still strive, to bridge humanity\'s differences
by sharing their experiences
and so
we allow ourselves, to hope
and find that\'s enough, for now..)
