Withering away

Dirty hands and face
Hard work all these years gone by

No disrespect to you either. I think one poem a day is not nearly enough, (especially when there are people like you who are so talented) so I wanted to add on and play along. :)

Shes at the club
Just Kate said:

She awakens next
Wrapped tightly in your embrace
Starts her walk of shame.

No disrespect. Just wanted to play and keep it going.

One day
sorenbarrett said:

This senryu seems to reflect both a temporal and spiritual meaning. Is she waiting beyond for the reunion and home is where one came from and loved ones await? Well written Ethan

The expression of recognition of loss of the familiar and comfortable leaving a tone of sadness to this piece. Nicely done

A strong message in this poetic senryu that is reflective and asks another to be so as well. Very nicely written

Horrid
sorenbarrett said:

This one gets a fave not for its beauty but for its unique use of smell in a senryu and its clever word play combining smell with emotion. In its repulsion it vividly displays its power. Well done.

Waiting and watching
sorenbarrett said:

There is a haunting feel of worry, angst and concern in this poem. Those waiting hours where there is nothing to do but think and thoughts do not come only anxiety that there are no thoughts.

Locked away
NinjaGirl said:

So short but so relatable...we have to sit with the chains for so long before we understand them...but it\'s so much pain to have to realize how much time they have taken from us. Hate is truly so painful

sorenbarrett said:

A great name for the poem and wonderful depiction of the oceans rage. The parallel from myth to Bible where the flood was followed with a promise in a rainbow that it would never happen again here the last line promise that the madness could never be shown again. Nicely done

Ancient cloth
sorenbarrett said:

Now I\'m not sure whether this qualifies as a haiku or senryu whether literal or symbolic but a gem it is. It could simply be the literal description of an old royal cloth or symbolizing royalty in the purple and gold it could represent fallen royalty of the past possibly indicating its past majesty or it being outdated. Very nicely done a fave
