The Pier

From observer to confessor yes - but the sea has so much more depth... (no humour intended) than the ways of humans.
(Mention of piers reminds me of my childhood ,by the way..)

In this poem everyone is pursuing their own thoughts with disregard to all around them except at the end where the sea becomes the listener. Very nicely turned in this poem. Well done

This poem so cleverly worded in rhyme speaks to a subject that many would do well to listen to. The good old times were not always so good as we remember. However worse still are those that remember the past as always negative filtering out all the good to dwell in misery. The better way pointed out in the poem is live in the present, not that fond past memories to enhance the present are not good. Loved it a fave

Three leaves

Three a magical number and religious too. Leaves a metaphor for many things and fallen no less. A great read that was fun as well.

You are only as old as you think you are and you do live on in your progeny. Nicely crafted this poem strikes a chord and is a fave
