      Welcome to My poetic side!

Thank you, Julian. The village where I was born and bred is called St. Julian's. It's named after the Belgian Saint and is or rather used to be a quaint little fishing village surrounded by farms and fields. My house overlooked the historic Spinola Bay, named after Grand Master Spinola of the Knights of St. John.

St. Julian's is situated on the island of Malta in the centre of Europe. Unfortunately, the village has been raped by unsustainable development and the most beautiful old houses of character demolished and replaced by huge blocks of apartments. Noise pollution is the worst in any city in Europe and developers continue with the building mania that has taken away the quality of life and forced many residents to leave and seek other villages. Others left to seek pastures new abroad, knowing it was a matter of time before building projects would mushroom all over the island like cancer. Some of the most picturesque places have now been ruined by spoiling the skyline and multiple eyesores.

I lived in this village for 30 years and left when I got married. That being said, it became impossible to live in a small village that never slept, and was taken over by yobs, thugs and criminals from all over the world. It is now known as "The Red Light District".

Thank you for hosting me on your website. God bless you and your work.
