Its a really good book somewhat sad. It follows the life of the main charcter in a jurnal like style. The book does contain older mature ideas. Kinda inapropret for young children

I’ve tried three times in a row to read this book: the first time I couldn’t stop trembling from fear, the second trying to comprehend what was being told, and the third pushing past the terrifying story that chilled me to the bones. It’s amazing, to put it lightly. I’d love to go back and read it for the first time, and then the second, and then third, and repeat. Osamu Dazai has a way with portraying the universal feeling of loneliness that left me stunned, staring at the wall for an hour before returning to read more.
