This is the first and only novel written by iconic actor Terence Stamp. The book has a touch of Mrs Dalloway about it with all e action taking place within one day, A Midsummer's Day in the West area of London.
A bohemian woman arranges a dinner party for a group of equally bohemian/socially deviant friends on one Midsummer's Day. Themes such as mysticism, spiritual enlightenment permeate this book.

Some aspects of the book such as the spiritual elements mirror Terence Stamp\'s own life when he went on a 10 year sabbatical after a career slump and travelled the world spendling time in India in an ashram and amongst the great spiritual leaders of the time.

I love this book too as I grew up around the West London area depicted in the book.

This book may be an acquired taste for some but it is an interesting book.
