O, It Was Out by Donnycarney

James Joyce

O, it was out by Donnycarney
When the bat flew from tree to tree
My love and I did walk together;
And sweet were the words she said to me.

Along with us the summer wind
Went murmuring -- - O, happily! -- -
But softer than the breath of summer
Was the kiss she gave to me.

    Loved how romantic this one is! That line "softer than the breath of summer was the kiss she gave to me" really hit me - pure beauty!

      Man, J. Joyce’s poetry is somethin’ else, huh?😅 Doing a lit assignment on him’s been an eye opener. Totaly feel like I’m rite there in Donnycarney with the bat and the summer wind. That kiss tho..so intense. Dude can write love stuff realy passionately without being all sloppy-romantic. It's coool 🙌🏻
